Assistant Teacher Infant/Toddler

Pay/Hours: Starting Minimum: $10.99/hr 35 hrs/week.

Qualifications: **Must send copies of transcripts with application/resume for Consideration.**12 credits in ECE and upon hire begin CDA process and maintain certification to remain qualified for position. Have access to reliable, insured transportation. Must have or obtain and maintain first-aid, CPR, and medication administration certification within six months of hire.

Description: The Assistant Teacher is responsible for the care, supervision, and safety of center children. Assist staff in planning and implementing age-appropriate curriculum. Responsible for keeping classroom and playground clean, safe, and orderly. Must have compassion and understanding of needs of children and families from economically and culturally diverse backgrounds. Must learn, implement, and follow all program policies and procedures. Responsible for the program operations in the absence of the Head Teacher.

WIA Program Assistant

Pay/Hours: starting minimum $10.99/hr; 20 hrs/wk

Qualifications: Associates Degree and one year related work experience or a H.S Diploma plus three years of related work experience. Knowledge of One Stop services, partners, and programs, assessment techniques, career planning resources, job development and the business community in Eastern Connecticut. Excellent customer service and communication skills, verbal and written. Strong Word Processing, Excel, PowerPoint and Internet applications skills required.

Description: This position is responsible for providing overall administrative support to the Workforce Investment Act programs. This individual must possess high energy and motivation. He/She should be a self-starter who can work independently, be well organized, able to multitask and prioritize projects. This individual will be responsible for preparing program information, reports, correspondence, faxing, filing, assisting with coordinating meetings and appointments, conducting One Stop information sessions and ensuring that all program records are organized; reports are updated and maintained in an organized system.

TANF Case Manager

Pay/Hours: starting minimum $14.52/hr; 37.5 hrs/wk

Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree plus three years related work experience, two of which were administrative and supervisory in nature and/or any combination of education and experience. Spanish speaking preferred. Knowledge of One Stop services, partners, and programs, assessment techniques, career planning resources, job development and the business community in Eastern Connecticut. Excellent customer service and communication skills, verbal and written. Strong Word Processing, Excel, PowerPoint and Internet applications skills required.

Description: This position works directly with One-Stop Customers. Responsibilities include; meeting contractual performance goals for the Temporary Aid to Needy Families (TANF) program. This individual must possess high energy and motivation to assist customers in meeting their employment goals. He/She should be a self-starter who can work independently, be well organized, able to multitask, and prioritize projects. The TANF case manager provides case management services to all active and time limited clients that are referred by Department of Social Services. Case management services include but are not limited to career assessment and guidance services, workshops, assessment of education and training needs, information and referrals, coordination of support services, job search skills assistance, coordination of job development referrals, and retention services.

Head Teacher

Pay/Hours: $14.52 hr/35 Hrs/Wk; 52 Wks/Yr

Qualifications: QUALIFICATIONS (Level 1):· Associates in ECE or related field with 12 credits in ECE plus three years experience in a licensedfacility, two of which were supervisory in nature.QUALIFICATIONS (Level 2):· B.A. Degree in ECE or related field with 12 credits in ECE plus three years experience in a licensedfacility, two of which were supervisory in nature.· B.A. Degree in ECE or related field with 12 credits in ECE plus three years experience in a licensedfacility, two of which were supervisory in nature and Pre-K CertificationREQUIREMENTS FOR ALL LEVELS:· Have the credentials to obtain a Connecticut Head Teacher License from the Department of PublicHealth.· Must have reliable, insured transportation.· Have or obtain and maintain first-aid, CPR, and medication administration certification within sixmonths of hire.· Provide a medical statement signed by a physician, advanced practice registered nurse or physician’sassistant, completed within twelve (12) months before the date of employment, and every twenty-four(24) months for current staff.· Provide a written report of negative tuberculin test completed within twelve (12) months prior to thedate of employment or for a known prior reactor, no evidence of active tuberculosis

Responsible for developing and implementing age-appropriate curriculum encouraging self esteem and independence for the social, emotional, cognitive and physical needs of each child while ensuring that health, safety and nutritional education is integrated into the overall curriculum planning. Responsible for keeping classroom and playground clean, safe, and orderly. Must have compassion and understanding of needs of children and families from economically and culturally diverse backgrounds. Learn, implement and ensure center and staff are in compliance with State of CT licensing codes, funding requirements, federal, state, and local laws and regulations, and NAEYC standards. Responsible for administrating the overall operations of the Early Care & Education Program and supervision of Early Care & Education children and staff. Responsible for all required administrative paperwork for the center.

Repair/Maintenance Coordinator (Temporary)

Pay/Hours: $10.99 hr/35 Hrs/Wk; 52 Wks/Yr

Qualifications: •High School diploma or equivalent•Hands-on professional knowledge of (carpentry, plumbing, mechanical and electrical systems)•Valid driver’s license.•Six (6) years of experience in facility maintenance and repairing •Knowledge of OSHA rules and regulations in relation to safety/health in the workplace•Ability to work independently•Ability to interact and communicate with people professionally•Ability to be flexible (evenings/weekends emergency calls 24/7)

Description: Maintenance & Repairs Coordinator (Temporary Position, up to one year).This position will assist in the maintenance and repair of owned and leased facilities.

Location: New London and Windham Counties

Nutrition Site Server

Pay/Hours: starting minimum $9.01/hr; 12.5 hrs/wk

Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent. Demonstrated ability to work with Senior citizens and volunteers.

Description: Coordinate, prepare/serve lunch meal at assigned congregate nutrition meal site; clean and wash equipment used in the preparation and serving of lunch; maintain a clean area; establish good rapport with senior center participants and volunteers; complete weekly and monthly paperwork;

Location: Norwich

Family Advocate

Pay/Hours: starting minimum $14.52; 35 hrs/wk; 40-42 wks

Qualifications: B.A. Degree in Social Work, Human Development & Family Relations, Psychology, Sociology & Applied Sciences or related field preferred with one (1) year related work experience; OR Associates Degree in above or related field with three (3) years related work experience. Must have access to reliable, insured transportation. Obtain a physical exam (statement of good health) with TB test upon hire and updated every two years. Obtain and keep First Aid and CPR certification current.

Description: To provide direct services to center-base families, which includes all requirements within Family Services, Health Services and Parent Involvement. Maintain required enrollment and average daily attendance figures for assigned caseload. Assist in the recruitment and enrollment process for new families eligible for Head Start. Begin and maintain the Family Partnership Process with all enrolled families on case load.
