Shelter Worker Per Diem (2 Positions)

Pay/Hours: 9.23 per hour

Qualifications: Associates Degree or High School Diploma (or equivalent) plus three years related work experience.

Description: Supervision of homeless facility while providing support and· encouragement to homeless families in residence. Responsible for maintaining the safety ofthe shelter and residents during shift. Responsible for maintenance activities. Responsible formonitoring the entrance to the shelter, greeting residents and completing intake informationwhen necessary. Must be able to provide support and understanding to families in crisis.Responsible for record keeping for the Child and Adult Care Food Program. Must learn theResults Oriented Management Accountability (R.O.M.A.) and Human Services Infrastructure(H.S.I.) Systems. TVCCA operates under these two management principals and allemployees must understand and adopt them.

Location: Norwich

Food Service Driver Temporary

Pay/Hours: Starting Minimum $9.01/hour, 12 hs/wk, MWF

Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent plus one year related work experience. Current Connecticut Driver’s license and excellent driving record; able to drive large truck or large vehicle, standard shift; working knowledge of automobile maintenance.

Description: Work with Central Warehouse/commissary staff to ensure program services in 39 town area. On a routine basis provide daily deliveries in assigned area. Assure that deliveries are complete and all items pertinent to deliveries have been received at all locations.

Location: Norwich, Lisbon and Griswold

Teacher Aide

Pay/Hours: Starting min. $9.01 hr/35 Hrs/Wk; 52 Wks/Yr

Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent. Must have or obtain and maintain CT child care first-aid, child CPR, and medication administration certification.Provide a TVCCA Staff Statement of Good Health.

Description: The Teacher Aide is responsible for the care, supervision, and safety of center children. Assist staff in planning and implementing age appropriate curriculum. Responsible for keeping classroom and playground clean, safe, and orderly. Must have compassion and understanding for the needs of children and families from economically and culturally diverse backgrounds. Must learn, implement, and follow all program policies and procedures.

Location: Taftville,Groton,New London

Assistant Teacher (Infant/Toddlers)

Pay/Hours: $11.00/hour 35 Hours Week/52 Weeks

Qualifications: 12 credits in ECE and upon hire begin CDA process and maintain certification to remainqualified for position.

Description: The Assistant Teacher is responsible for the care, supervision, and safety of center children.Assist staff in planning and implementing age-appropriate curriculum. Responsible for keepingclassroom and playground clean, safe, and orderly. Must have compassion and understanding ofneeds of children and families from economically and culturally diverse backgrounds. Mustlearn, implement, and follow all program policies and procedures. Encourage self-esteem andindependence for the social, emotional, cognitive and physical needs of each child. Ensure thathealth, safety and nutritional education is integrated into the overall curriculum planning.Responsible for the program operations in the absence of the Head Teacher.

Location: Groton

Career Specialist

Pay/Hours: $15.00 hr/37.5 hrs week/52 weeks

Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree plus three years related work experience, two of which were administrative and supervisory in nature or a combination of equivalent education and experience. Spanish speaking preferred. Excellent customer service, computer and communication skills required.

Description: Responsibilities include: meeting recruitment and contractual performance goals put forth by the Eastern CT Workforce Investment Board for the Connecticut Green Jobs Funnel Initiative. This individual must possess high energy and motivation to assist customers. These services include but are not limited to career assessment and guidance services, workshops, assessment of education and training needs, information and referrals, coordination of support services, job search skills assistance, job development, follow-up and retention services.

Location: Eastern CT

Program Recruiter/Program Support

Pay/Hours: starting minimum $14.52/hr; 28 hrs/wk

Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Human Services, or related field, plus three years of related experience, at least two of which were administrative or supervisory in nature or an equivalent combination of related education and experience. Proficiency in Spanish preferred.

Description: This position, Recruiter/Program Support, is responsible for the recruitment, training and placement of individuals to provide companionship and support person to person services to frail and developmentally challenged individuals throughout New London County for the Senior Companion Program. The Recruiter is responsible for providing meaningful volunteer opportunities, processing referrals for in home companion and support services and placement in the IHS Program. The Recruiter/Program Support position is responsible for handling public relations initiatives in the region, and maintaining positive matches between the volunteers and participants. Responsible to process monthly billing for the Individual Habilitative Services (IHS) Program Consumer Service Hours and for providing administrative and clerical support for the program. Must have an understanding of and compassion for the needs of older volunteers and individuals from culturally diverse backgrounds. The Recruiter/Program Support shall learn, implement, and follow all program policies and procedures and act as a liaison between volunteers, station staff, participants, and administration.

Warehouse Driver

Pay/Hours: $9.01/hr 18 hrs/week /3 days week

Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent plus one year related work experience. Possess valid Connecticut driver’s license. Excellent driving record; able to drive truck or large vehicle; drive standard shift; working knowledge of automobile maintenance.

Head Teacher

Pay/Hours: $14.52/hr; 35 hrs/42 weeks

Qualifications: ***Transcripts must be provided with resume/application to be considered for this position.*** Associates in ECE or related field or Bachelor's degree with 12 credits in ECE plus three years experience in a licensed facility. Have the credentials to obtain a Connecticut Head Teacher License from the Department of Public Health. Must have reliable, insured transportation. Have or obtain and maintain first-aid, CPR, and medication administration certification within six months of hire. Provide a medical statement signed by a physician, advanced practice registered nurse or physician’s assistant, including a written report of negative tuberculin test. Be able to work 35 hours/week, 40 weeks/year depending on program.

Description: The Head Teacher is responsible for the care, supervision, and safety of center children. Responsible for developing and implementing age-appropriate curriculum encouraging self esteem and independence for the social, emotional, cognitive and physical needs of each child while ensuring that health, safety and nutritional education is integrated into the overall curriculum planning. Responsible for keeping classroom and playground clean, safe, and orderly. Must have compassion and understanding of needs of children and families from economically and culturally diverse backgrounds. Learn, implement and ensure center and staff are in compliance with State of CT licensing codes, funding requirements, federal,state, and local laws and regulations, and NAEYC standards. Responsible for administrating the overall operations of the Head Start Center and supervision of Head Start children and staff. Responsible for all required administrative paperwork for the center.

Regional Green Jobs Funnel Program Coord.

Pay/Hours: STARTING MIN: $17.10 /hour, 37.5 hrs/week

Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in the Green Industry, plus three years related work experience, two of which were administrative and supervisory in nature and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Spanish speaking preferred.

Description: Regional position. Responsibilities include: meeting recruitment and contractual performance goals put forth by the Eastern CT Workforce Investment Board for the Connecticut Green Jobs Funnel Initiative. This individual must possess high energy and motivation, strong computer and technology skills; effective writing; facilitation and communication skills; experience with counseling or guidance helpful; supervision of program staff; job development, follow up and retention services, staff supervision.
