  • Family Advocate
    Pay/Hours: Starting Minimum $14.52/hr - 35 hours per week - 42 weeks per year
    Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Development & Family Relations, Social Work, Psychology, Social and Applied Sciences, or related field preferred with one year related work experience; OR Associates Degree in above or related field with three years related work experience with verification. Must have access to reliable, insured transportation. Obtain a physical exam (statement of good health) with TB test upon hire and updated every two years. Must obtain and keep First Aid and CPR certification current.
    Description: To provide direct services to center base families, which includes all requirements within social services, health, and parent involvement. Maintain required enrollment and average daily attendance figures for assigned caseload. Assist in the recruitment and enrollment process for new families eligible for Head Start. Begin Family Partnership Agreements with all enrolled families in case load.

  • TANF Case Manager
    Pay/Hours: Starting Minimum $14.52/hr - 37.5 hours per week
    Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree plus three years related work experience, and/or combination of education and experience. Spanish Speaking preferred. Knowledge of One Stop services, partners, and programs, assessment techniques, career planning resources, job development, and the business community in Eastern Connecticut. Excellent customer service and communication skills, verbal and written. Strong Word Processing, Excel, PowerPoint and Internet applications skills required.
    Description: This position works directly with One-Stop Customers. Responsibilities include meeting contractual performance goals for the Temporary Aid to Needy Families (TANF) program. This individual must possess high energy and motivation to assist customers in meeting their employment goals. He/She should be a self-starter who can work independently, be well organized, able to multitask, and prioritize projects. The TANF case manager provides case management services to all active and time-limited clients that are referred by Department of Social Services. Case management services include but are not limited to career assessment and guidance services, workshops, assessment of education and training needs, information and referrals, coordination of support services, job search skills assistance, coordination of job development referrals, and retention services.

  • Program Manager, National Senior Corps Program
    Pay/Hours: Starting Minimum $16.71/hr - 35 hours per week
    Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology, Social Work, Gerontology, or related field, plus three years of related experience, at least two of which were administrative or supervisory in nature, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficiency in Spanish preferred.
    Description: This position is responsible for the recruitment, training, and placement of individuals in various stations throughout New London County. The Manager is responsible for providing meaningful volunteer opportunities, opening sites, adding new volunteer stations, handling public relations initiatives in the region, and maintaining positive matches between the volunteers and participants. Must have an understanding of and compassion for the needs of older volunteers and individuals from culturally diverse backgrounds. The Program Manager shall learn, implement, and follow all program policies and procedures and act as a liaison between volunteers, station staff, participants, and administration.

  • Clerical Assistant - Housing Services Program
    Pay/Hours: Starting Minimum $9.58/hr - 25 hours per week, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-1 p.m. (flexible)
    Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent plus three years related work experience; general knowledge of computers
    Description: The ability to organize and track will be the key to success in this position. Main responsibility will be maintaining the paperwork filing system. Must be willing to learn the regulations of housing programs (state and federal) and be able to serve as a resource to program participants and landlords. Must learn the Results Oriented Management Accountability (ROMA) and Human Services Infrastructure (HSI) systems. TVCCA operates under these two management principles and all employees must understand and adopt them.

  • Teacher Aide
    Pay/Hours: Starting Minimum $9.01/hr - 35 hours per week - 52 weeks per year
    Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent.
    Location: Brooklyn, Taftville, and New London, Connecticut

  • Assistant Teachers
    Pay/Hours: Starting Minimum $10.99/hr - 30-35 hours per week - 42-52 weeks per year
    Qualifications: 12 credits in Early Childhood Education and obtain CDA upon hire.
    Location: New London County, Connecticut; Brooklyn, Connecticut
