On Monday, December 15th, TVCCA, Reliance House, Inc., Uncas Health District, and United Community and Family Services, jointly held a Legislative Breakfast at the Dime Corporate Office in Norwich. A brief presentation on Health and Human Services in Difficult Times was conducted to enlighten our legislative representatives on the struggle non-profits are currently having. Our legislators in attendance were: Senator's Prague, Daly, and Stillman; our Representative's in attendance were: Coutu, Mikutel, Olson, Orange, Reynolds, Ritter, and Ryan. We appreciate the time they took to meet with us and discuss what we can do and what they can do to assist us.
Payless ShoeSource, has selected TVCCA as a partner in the Payless Shoes 4 Kids Program--a national grass roots effort to deliver $1 million of free shoes to children of families in need this holiday season. TVCCA was awarded 200 $15.00 shoe fit coupons to be distributed to our customers. The coupons can be redeemed for, or toward, a pair of children's shoes at any Payless ShoeSource store in our community. The gift coupons will be distributed by December 24, 2008.
There were over 2,600 non-profits that applied for this program and only 630 non-profits were selected which included TVCCA.

The TVCCA Head Start and Early Care and Education Center located on Bayonet Street in New London received outstanding scores from their recent NAEYC Accreditation visit and were successfully given their accreditation renewal until 2012.
