Carnevale fundraiser for Meals on Wheels was a success!

The First Annual TVCCA Meals on Wheels CARNEVALE held on April 2, 2011 at Ocean Beach Park, Port N Starboard Ballroom, was an amazing, magical night of food, fun, and prizes. A sellout crowd of 400 individuals were treated to traditional, Italian culinary delights – including a 24 foot antipasto bar – prepared by New London County guest chefs Anna Lathrop, Sean Coleman, Chaz Paull, Jeffrey Gordon, Anthony Tran, Shane Perkins, Joseph Tate, and Timothy Grills. Guests capped off the meal with their choice of coffee, espresso or tea served with their choice of a variety of desserts provided by Filomena’s in Waterford, Tony D’s in New London, and the Big Y’s Italian Bakery in Mystic

Dinner music was provided by Tony Lee. Throughout the evening, the Mystic Paper Beast Theatre entertained guests with their unique brand of performance art while wandering minstrel Tony Costa roamed through the crowd serenading guests. Following dinner, guests danced to the music of the Joe Grieco Band. A silent auction and hidden prize balloons were also part of the ongoing festivities.

The CARNEVALE benefit event was held to raise funds for the TVCCA Meals on Wheels program, which serves nutritionally balanced meals to the homebound senior citizens of New London County. The benefit brought local people together from all walks of life to honor our senior citizens who built our communities and to whom we owe so much.

We thank all of the donors, businesses and attendees who contributed to the evening’s success, but want to give special thanks to the wonderful and generous art teachers and students of the 8th grade graduating class at Sacred Heart School who designed the wall banners and Norwich Free Academy’s Principals of Art II Class who designed the mural.
