The Financial Education and Self-Sufficiency Program provides supportive services designed to foster and develop positive household budgeting and credit management skills to assist households with overcoming their current hardships and taking command of their financial futures.
Once again, the Retired & Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) is sponsoring the Santa Anonymous Winter Boot Project.
This month the RSVP program is having a back to school supply drive for elementary age children. The drive is to help ensure that every child is given the opportunity to have the school supplies they need to be successful this school year.
On Sunday, August 14th, 2011, 30 volunteers from the Norwich Worship Center’s R.E.A.C.H. program are coming to the Commissary/ Senior Nutrition Office in Bozrah to do a little make over!

Our partnership with the Town of Groton Parks and Recreation and the Ella T. Grasso Regional Vocational Technical School’s Agricultural Program marked its 4th year of collaboration on the Groton Community Garden.
On May 3rd and May 17th, 2011 TVCCA Senior Nutrition/ Meals on Wheels Program welcomed Pfizer Volunteers for a United Way of Southeastern Connecticut 3rd annual “Day of Caring” event at the TVCCA Commissary/Senior Nutrition Office in Bozrah Connecticut.
The TVCCA Head Start/ Little Learners Family Fun Night takes place each year in April. It is an evening filled with hands-on science, math and literacy activities for children and families. Other community agencies are available as well to provide information to our families about the services that they offer.

8 RSVP volunteers participated in an event for Read Across America Day celebrating Dr. Seuss’s birthday held at the Regional Multicultural Magnet School in New London. The national event was created in 1998 in order to get children excited about reading.
Each year the RSVP Santa Anonymous Winter Boot Project looks for community donors to help us fill our requests for new warm winter boots referred by schools, other child care providers and head start programs.
