Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA)

TVCCA provides free tax preparation services for low to moderate income families and individuals. IRS trained volunteers prepare and e-file personal income taxes at no charge to the taxpayer. Tax preparation is available from January 31, 2011 through April 7, 2011. Please contact our office during tax season for schedule and documentation required. BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. Appointments can be scheduled starting January 3, 2011. Please call 860-425-6597 to make an appointment for any of the sites listed below.

Things to Bring with you:

  1. Valid Picture ID
  2. Social Security Cards for all household members
  3. All income forms (W-2, 1099s & 1098s)
  4. Proof of all income
  5. A voided check (if direct deposited is desired)
  6. If claiming daycare or elder care expenses we require:
    • Caregiver’s name
    • Address
    • Social Security number or business tax ID number
  7. Deductible expenses

Things not necessary to bring with you, but it would be helpful:

  1. Copy of last years Federal and State Return
  2. Current tax package
