WIA (Workforce investment Act) projects are sponsored by the Eastern Connecticut Workforce Investment Board. WIA offers programs and activities that promote and improve job seeker's occupational skills, employment options, job retention, and earnings. Information about the labor market, career options, job searching, and available education and training opportunities is included. Clients are guided toward employment by case managers who help identify and remove barriers to success. Case managers also guide clients through the social service system.
WIA Adult and Dislocated Worker Programs
Eligible clients receive intensive services that could include training funds and/or on-the-job training to help them towards their career goals.
WIA Youth Program
Serving eligible youth ages 16-21 with career exploration, education, job search assistance, training, and individual case management. The emphasis is on obtaining the skills needed to get and keep a job.
